The toolbars are highly customizable with a drag and drop feature. You can also add or remove tools by right-clicking on the empty space in the toolbar, and a list will appear to let you select and unselect tools. In addition to customizable tools, you can change the icon images to either large or small sizes and the sections of the program can be reorganized too. The default tray is a docked window that lets you manage your model.

You can expand and minimize the various tabs. You can move the default tray around your workspace by dragging and dropping the window. A status bar will be at the bottom of the UI to give you instructions that deliver updates in real-time to let you know what to do next. Lastly, you have access to a library of third-party extensions in the Extension Warehouse.

Both free and paid extensions are available to install. SketchUp Pro has a clean user interface. The status bar gives you tips while you work.

Another common command is the push and pull button. Push and pull lets you make 3D structures by pulling faces up. You can push portions of your 3D designs out to remove parts of your structures. It makes us feel really stupid!. My husband and I, both experienced pc and web users, have found it impossible to do the most basic things — in cluding replicating the part 1 tutorial! Nothing works like any software we have used — including many graphics packages.

Having same problem. Can not find Sketch up and have Licence for that. Kindly suggest. If you read through this thread you would see I posted a link to one of the other threads where there is a link to SU I reached out to Sketchup Customer Service to see where I could download the version.

Funny how the website has , , , and lower, skips I just built a new a new PC computer and would like to have this version to start on my computer before I sign up for the monthly membership. Can you guys help? Really appreciate it. But for historical reasons, v was the last desktop version to be available as SketchUp Make – free for personal, non-commercial use, and widely used and downloaded still by personal users.

When you use it properly, you can make truly amazing shapes within SketchUp. This extension allows you to push pull multiple surfaces at once, push pull round surfaces, and more.

This is a great extension for adding thickness to complex objects as well. Clothworks is a realistic cloth simulation tool. While the full version has some unlockable features, like moveable pins, and different kinds of smoothing, the free version of clothworks does still allow you to simulate cloth and very realistic ways!

One of the areas where a base SketchUp installation lacks a bit is in the animation functions. However, this extension, created by Fredo6, allows you to actually animate moving geometry. One of the most powerful extensions for SketchUp is flowify, which allows you to bend geometry based on a target shape with 4 corners.

This allows for the creation of more complex shapes and objects by using a complex target shape. Slicer allows you to take solid shapes and break them up into different slices, allowing you to make very interesting geometry, but also allows you to export these different slices to a CNC routing machine, helping you create real models from these shapes in real life.

Note that shapes for slicer have to be solids, so you may want to use a tool like Solid Inspector to help you create the solid geometry. When you move the points on the bounding box, FFD will use those points to deform your shape. Soap Skin and Bubble is an extension that allows you to select a frame, create a face along it, then inflate it to create different faces — this is an excellent extension for the creation of shapes like tensile structures, etc.

As we move forward, UV Mapping and the placement of materials is becoming more and more important. This extension allows you to really customize the location and mapping of your materials within your SketchUp models.
